Kuwait has no VAT. Prices are quoted in dinars with three decimals (fils).
The main places to buy are the Gold Souk in Mubarakiya, Kuwait City. Always check the purity hallmark, ask for the weight on the receipt and compare the making charge per gram between shops.

Frequently asked questions
What is the gold rate in Kuwait today?
The table at the top shows today’s KWD price for 24K, 22K, 21K and 18K gold per gram, tola, 10 grams and ounce. It is refreshed every hour from the international gold price.
Why is the jeweller’s price higher than this rate?
This is the value of the gold itself. Shops add a making charge – usually quoted per gram – that depends on the design. Gold bars and coins sell much closer to the spot price.
What is the difference between 24K, 22K, 21K and 18K gold?
24K is 99.9% pure gold, 22K is 91.7%, 21K is 87.5% and 18K is 75%; the rest is other metals that make the jewellery harder. Most Gulf jewellery is 21K or 22K, while diamond settings are usually 18K.
How many grams is one tola?
One tola is 11.664 grams. Many jewellers in the Gulf, especially those serving South Asian customers, also quote prices per tola. One troy ounce is 31.1 grams.
